Beavers

Beavers is a fun and energetic section of Scouts for young people aged 6 to 7. It is all about adventure, trying new things and having fun while making friends and building confidence.

Beavers meet in groups called Colonies, where they enjoy a varied programme of activities led by trained volunteers in a safe and supportive environment.

What do Beavers do?

Beavers take part in a wide range of activities that are designed to be exciting, active and engaging, while helping them learn new skills.

Activities may include:

  • Games and team challenges
  • Arts and crafts
  • Outdoor activities and exploring nature
  • Learning basic skills such as cooking and first aid
  • Visits and special events
  • Earning badges and awards

Beavers are encouraged to be curious, have a go and enjoy learning through doing.

Why join Beavers?

Beavers helps young people to:

  • Build confidence and independence
  • Make new friends and work as part of a team
  • Learn practical skills through fun activities
  • Develop resilience and problem-solving skills
  • Gain a sense of achievement by earning badges

It is a great way for children to stay active, try new experiences and be part of their local community.

Where do Beavers meet?

Beaver Colonies are run by Scout Groups across Leatherhead District. Meeting times and availability vary depending on the group and volunteer capacity.

[You can follow this section with your existing group or location information.]

What happens next?

After Beavers, young people move on to Cubs, where they take part in bigger adventures, new challenges and exciting opportunities.
